ABOUT

want to know what tools i use? how long i've used them? you came to the right place, bud.

TOOLS OF THE TRADE

For photo and video editing, I use almost exclusively GIMP and VEGAS Pro. I've used both programs for well over six years in both personal and educational projects, and while I always find something new to help optimize my workflow, I know GIMP and VEGAS Pro like the back of my hand.

For voice acting, I use an AT2020USB+ microphone with Audacity. I sometimes preprocess the audio using Equalizer APO, and sometimes just do all the processing in Audacity. I also have the custom virtual audio interface Voicemeeter Potato, which is super cool and allows me to use all kinds of wacky things. It's also so complex that when other people need to play some audio on my computer, they kind of have to fumble about with a bunch of sliders. It's funny.

For code editing, I primarily use Visual Studio Code because it's feature-packed and really easy to use. Although, very often I'll use Vim and Nano in a terminal environment because I sometimes find it easier to SSH via terminal and keep everything in that terminal.

For anything 3D, I use Blender unquestionably. I admire free and open-source software, and Blender is one of the best FOSS I've had the pleasure of using. I guess GIMP is good too, but it's not nearly as cool. I primarily use Blender for procedural texturing and procedural modeling (shader and geometry nodes are the BEST!), but I'll sometimes branch out and make something else. If I'm using Blender, it's likely I'm making a graphic for a video or just experimenting with procedural concepts.
